Getting Started with Windows:
This program is a great introduction to Microsoft Windows XP operating system and includes the following areas:
  • Learning the desktop:
    Start, recycle bin, My Computer, mouse clicks - left and right, double and single, time and calendar
  • Working with Windows:
    Opening, closing, minimize, maximize, move, size, scroll, taskbar - working with multiple documents and/or programs
  • Menus and Dialog Boxes:
    Menus, mouse shortcut menus, keyboard shortcuts, display properties
  • Windows Explorer:
    View files, create new folders, copy files and folders from/to disc, delete files and folders.

Beginning Outlook Management:
Creating email, replying, forwarding, creating contacts, creating appoinments, events and tasks.

Advanced Outlook Management:
Special features, flags, importance, recall, mail merge, special printing, managing contacts, meetings in calendar, using email with contacts and calendar.

Beginning Office: (choose one per session)
  • Word:
    Page formatting, spellcheck, thesaurus, wordcount, headers and footers, font formatting
  • Excel:
    Data and formula entry, autofill, relative and absolute cell references, worksheet formatting, autosum and IF function, sorting and charting.
  • Powerpoint:
    Organizing a basic presentation. Basic slide layouts and designs. Working in different views. Editing, formatting and moving text. Modifying the slide master.
  • Access:
    Create, save and print Access tables. Add records, query the database, delete records, and design a simple report.
Advanced Office: (choose one per session)
  • Word:
    Import graphics, create tables, charts, and graphs. Create mail merges, macros, templates, and footnotes.
  • Excel:
    Named ranges for workbook navigation and formula development, define and apply format style sheets, Linking cells in separate Excel workbooks, Recording and modifying macros, Relative and absolute cell references, Creating new and customizing existing toolbars, data analysis features-including pivot tables.
  • Powerpoint:
    Using templates and color schemes. Adding diagrams and charts. Adding audio and video. Timings and transistions. Printing a presentaiton or handout.
  • Access:
    Modify tables to control data entry, use advance query techniques, and create calculated controls. Advanced form and report design will be included.
